The history of animation works in Japan begins with doing 'First Experiments in Animation' by:Shimawokawa Bokoten, Koichi Junichi, and Kitayama Seitaro in 1913.Then followed a short film (only lasted about five minutes) Shimowakawa Oten work entitled 'Imowaka Mukuzo Genkanban no Maki' in 1917.At that time Oten takes six months just to do the animation over five minutes and still be 'silent film'.Work Oten was then followed by the anime titled "Saru Kani Kassen 'and' Momotaro 'Kitayama Seitaro work in 1918,made for the 'Movie Company Nihon' Katsudo Shashin (Nikatsu).In 1918, Seitaro re-create the anime with the title 'Taro no Banpei'.But all records about the anime is said to be lost due to the earthquake in Tokyo in 1923.
